From the very beginning, limited activity/exercise types as a base was our intention. In contrast to many other authoring tools, yAuthor is designed in a flexible and modular way. We believe that a vast number of new exercise types with very specific needs and parameters will come along with the use of the tool in different environments/subjects/topics/phenomena. There will be more, because with our more than 18 years' experience in the interactive educational content market, we know it will be extendable over time. Thanks to this open/modular solution, yAuthor is able to work with external activities that can be easily created and added to the tool (as add-ons) within a few days. This solution allows the creation of infinite possibilities of different activities and parameters with Flash technology. Once created, new modules/exercises/simulations/activities can become a standard-module type available in your tool. The library of add-ons is always visible in your activity module-type list.
